Carmen Neagu is a well-reputed energy industry expert and became Chief Executive Officer of EnergoBit SA in February 2016. Before that, she was the President of the Supervisory Board of Transelectrica, from May 2014.
With a long career within the energy sector in Romanian companies and multinationals, Carmen Neagu acted as Regional Executive for GE Energy, for the South-East Europe area, where she was responsible for the entire range of GE Energy products and services in the region. Prior to that, she contributed to the strategic development of the Romanian power system, within ELCEN, Termoelectrica and the National Electricity Company, and held various top management positions in the fields of strategy and international affairs in power generation during the Romanian Energy Sector restructuring process. In 1998, she became an expert in energy investment management within the EU Phare programme.
Carmen Neagu graduated from the Politehnica University of Bucharest with an M.E. degree in thermo-energy engineering.
She is very active within different businesses and professional organizations and since February 2017, Carmen Neagu is a member in Cora Board of Directors. She also acts as volunteer within organizations such as Junior Achievement, sustaining the development of the educational system in the region, and PWN Romania, supporting women’s career development.
